EIS sets parents abuzz

JOHOR BARU: Excited parents here cannot wait for the opening of an international school right in the city here.
Bank officer Muzaffar Musa, 35, said that he had planned to enrol his children at a Singapore school next year.
However, he would send them to the Excelsior International School in Seri Alam.
Muzaffar said he always wanted to send his children to a Singapore school, saying that the island state has a better education system.
“But now I'm inclined to send my daughters to Excelsior School as it is located nearer to my place.
“This means I no longer need to travel so early to the school in Singapore,” he said yesterday.
Businesswoman Dalilah Bakar, 49, welcomed the international school, adding that parents now have a good opportunity to get the best education for their children.
Many parents send their children to schools in Singapore instead of international or privately-run schools here.
“Some of these type of schools here only care about making profit without taking the students' needs into account,” she added.
Sales executive K. Kumaraguru, 38, whose son is studying in Singapore for the last two years, said he might transfer him to Excelsior School as it is nearer to his house.
“I feel bad for my son who has to wake up at 4am and comes home after 8pm,” he added.
Excelsior School, due to open in September next year, will include elements of the Singaporean school curriculum and cater to the growing expatriate community in the state capital.
It is jointly developed by Raffles Campus Pte Ltd (RCPL) education group and Seri Alam Properties Sdn Bhd.
Spread over eight hectares, the school offers classes from kindergarten to high school for children aged three to 18.
It would be equipped with laboratories, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, football field, running tracks, drama and dance studios and an auditorium.

ULu Muda Kedah

I decided to head up north again recently.
The intention was to go look for some tigers or perhaps a rhino.
I do not think i could get any of those in where i am now, but then again
i wasnt looking for them here.

The boat trip into the campsite made me scorched and rear sore. In the spirit of supporting the local
fishermen communities, our host decide to engage a sampan without a top cover
and had wooden planks for seats. We started at the jetty and cross the Ulu Muda dam before narrowing
Chill water 24/7
up stream towards our cabin. 45 minutes of plentiful warm malaysia sunshine at 2 in the afternoon.

But the organiser Hymeir did good work in organising and had the right footwork, to come this far
in a short period of time. True entrepreneur, could have been that Pashtun gunpowder blood that
course through him, from his mothers's side.

That late evening, we were plunging into bloody darkness until Hymeir and his boys managed to get
the generator set alive. Resourceful local boys, the sampan man, was also our chef, guide, housekeeping, plumber and wireman. Quite a jack.

Gua Labua
For me, i thought the highlight was the caves and not the visit to the saltlicks, camera traps or un-motored river cruise. When i went into the caves, i couldnt help thinking, the caves are here even before the dinosaurs. They kept to themselves while the rest of the earth continue to mortality. When
i see a doline in a cave, i realized it took 500 million years to get that hole in the roof for the sunlight to come through. Is a good place to stand in the past and reflect on our own insignificance, when in a cave.

Well, the nights were cold, i slept alone in a cabin without electricity as vandalism has
severed the connecting cables to our cabin. I had to get up around 2 in the morning to wear socks
before going back to sleep.

It was a good trip, had a hard time lowering my ass and back into the river though, quite a chill the water is.
The leech stockings couldnt save all of us

Mencari kerja apa?

Semalam ketika bekerja, seorang Jururawat Kanan bertanya pendapat saya,
seperti; Doktor, Loyar,cikgu,Ingineer.

A) 2 tahun pra sekolah rendah
B) 6 tahun sekolah rendah
C) 5 tahun sekolah menengah
D) 1-1/2 tahun pra-universiti&kolej

Sebab mengapa kain baju tak cukup, saya rasa rata-rata kita tahu sebabnya.
